Perhaps the most unique program in the Sonrisas framework is Compu-Com Sonrisas, initially sponsored by Presbyterian World Service and Development of Canada (PWS&D). Understanding that computer technology is the way of the future, this project empowers marginalized Dominican youth with the knowledge and ability to use modern computers with modern software.
The unique aspect is that the beneficiaries get hands-on practice with various software programs as they put together numerous educational materials like brochures on oral health. The project was an unequivocal success and Sonrisas has decided to conduct the project in a new marginalized community of the capital starting in March 2005
